YGAM is a charity that is based in the United Kingdom. The organisation runs an education programme that has at its core the passion to educate and inform young people about gambling-related harm. The focus is very much on responsible gambling and on educating people about the dangers of not adhering to responsible gambling practices.
The organisation has been very effective in all of its projects and has hosted workshops in various countries, including the Gibraltar, the Netherlands, and Malta. The Isle of Man is its next area of focus and reach. YGAM is accredited by groups outside of the organisation, and without external financial aid such as that received from Microgaming, it would not be in a position to continue with the good work that it has been doing.
Next Stop: Isle Of Man
Microgaming’s donation via their PlayItForward initiative, will enable YGAM to extend its reach towards the Isle of Man, where partnerships will be established with schools as well as the local government in an attempt to inform with the help of YGAM’s Train the Trainer workshops.
The workshops will focus on educating and enabling teachers, youth workers, and volunteers about the development of resilience against gambling-related harm among the younger generation. Kimberly Broad, Head of Compliance at Microgaming, has said that partnering up with the organisation was an important step for Microgaming, as the company recognised the good work that YGAM has been doing as well as the importance of what YGAM were trying to achieve by means of proper and effective education. This was also the main reason behind Microgaming’s decision to enable YGAM to extend its reach towards the Isle of Man.
Keeping Up The Good Work
Chief Executive at YGAM, Lee Willows, has complimented Microgaming on its PlayItForward programme, saying that it was initiatives like these that enabled YGAM to continue with the good work that it has been doing and to achieve what it has achieved up until this point in time. Willows went on to say that the charity was honoured and proud to be aided and supported by a reputable role player in the gaming industry.
